Please take the time to read this information about white privilege.
The CREDIT Institute is dedicated to bringing you a robust understanding of ALL ways in which racism gives those of us who are white inequitable advantages over others. We hope that by learning at CREDIT, you’ll invest some time and energy into using these advantages to improve equity and decrease disparities in our field.

What does this have to do with SLPs? Well...it’s not just law enforcement treating Black people differently. It’s all of us, and this shows up in our work! Racism is an everyone problem. We as SLPs have a responsibility to understand how our race plays into power dynamics in our clinical interactions, workplace advancement and the overall lack of diversity in our field. Race also plays a role in our patient outcomes…one we can’t ignore.
At CREDIT, we’re committed to decreasing these disparities through thought-provoking CEUs and consulting. Look at this information:
Disparities exist in the diagnoses and treatment of: Dyslexia, Autism, Language Disorders and so many others! White people are more likely to access diagnoses and treatment from SLPs, white people have more reported access to AAC devices and white patients report better overall outcomes across ALL AREAS.
At CREDIT, we engage in education about these topics specifically, so that you can be part of the solution to an ongoing problem within our field. Please take a course with us so that we can advance DEI dialogue and learn how to best serve ALL populations!
